Mrs. Eder and the Monroe staff have declared tomorrow Pajama Day! 

All Monroe students are welcome to go back to school after the 3 day weekend in their pajamas! Stay comfy, Monroe!

Andrea Beaty Author Visit - Monday Nov. 13th.

Andrea Beaty will be chatting with Kindergarten through 3rd grade about her newest book, "Lila Greer, Teacher of the Year" on Nov. 13th. 

You know her best for the Rosie Revere book series and new Netflix show, "Ada Twist, Scientist." This is an amazing opportunity for your child to learn from one of the best early elementary authors around.

We continue to ask for your support. A minimum of 30 books must be sold in order to pay for the author visit. Please consider purchasing multiple copies for gifts as the giving season approaches. See FLYER to purchase.

Candy Drive for a Good Cause - Monday and Tuesday

The Kids Care Club will host a Candy Drive before school on November 6 and November 7! 

Please drop off all that extra Halloween candy to our donation tables from 8:15am until school starts. One donation table will be located near the office, and the other will be located at the west side of school (Monroe Street side). 

All candy will be donated to Chicago Survivors - an organization that assists under resourced children who have recently lost a loved one. The candy will be distributed around the holidays to provide some much needed cheer. We hope to see you there!

DuPage Children's Museum Event - Now Open to K, 1st & 2nd Grade!

Now open to Kindergartners, 1st Graders and 2nd Graders (and their siblings)! 

Come explore all that the DuPage Children's Museum has to offer in a private event on Wednesday, November 15 from 4:30 - 7:30 pm! Price is $30/child. Adult supervision is required, but adults are FREE. Pizza and drinks included! All proceeds benefit the PTO.

Chicago Wolves Game for a Good Cause!

Come join other Monroe families at a Chicago Wolves game on December 3 at 3:00 (doors open at 2:00). 

All attendees will receive a FREE Chicago Wolves knit hat and will be seated together. Tickets are $27 per person, and a portion of this price will be donated to a charity chosen by the members of the Monroe Kids Care Club (we will share which charity once votes are in!).

Book Fair Success!

Thank you to each and every one of you for supporting this year's Book Fair and Andrea's Angels! Over 1,300 books were donated to children who do not have access to adequate reading material. Through your book fair purchases, we raised over $4,000 that will go directly to the library to update our fiction and non-fiction books.

We will be running a collection for Andrea's Angels in the spring, so please hold onto all those books for future donations.

Family Fun Fest 5/17/24 - We NEED YOU!

Family Fun Fest is planned for May 17th, 2024, and we need you! 

To keep this LOVED tradition alive, we need our Monroe parent community to help. Unfortunately, we had to cancel the actual Science Fair for 2024 due to lack of parent involvement, and we do not want that to happen to Family Fun Fest! (don't fret- our season of science will still go on with some amazing plans!).

The DJ has been booked, the rides have been secured! A lot of the leg work has been done already.

Trunk or Treat THANK YOU!

We want to thank everyone who volunteered for the Trunk or Treat on 10/25. This event is a great tradition and the trunks this year were SPOOKTAKULAR- the room parents and volunteers did an amazing job on their fun and creative trunks! A special thank you to Megan Maduri and Sara Clary who had the event running smoothly, despite the misty and wet conditions and congrats to second grade for their winning trunk, "I Scream for Ice Cream and Candy! Enjoy your extra recess!
