4/6/2024 4:37 pm
Spring is a great time to make art and in addition to a new ArtCard which replaces the ArtBook Draw and Paint for Life for grades K to 3, there is an awesome new class for grades 3 to 5. Color and Composition is designed to assist older child artists to expand their skills to the next level. Color and Composition by Maureen Claffy is a new project based class that focuses on realistic skill sets and the language of art. There is a new project weekly. Please read more about all of it at www.maureenclaffyartacademy.com and see flyers for QR codes.
Here are the links to registration as well! I will be co-teaching both classes and I am really excited to bring these new opportunity to Monroe.

Community Speaker Series April 24th Presentation by Jeff Selingo: Who Gets Into College and Why

Who Gets In and Why: A Year Inside College Admissions
Wednesday, April 24, 2024
7:00pm - 8:30pm
In Person at the Hinsdale Central Auditorium
Register: http://weblink.donorperfect.com/CSSSelingo
It’s the question on the minds of teenagers and their parents everywhere: how do colleges select their freshman class? For an entire admissions cycle, Selingo was embedded in three admissions offices and followed a group of high-school seniors through the process as well as players behind the scenes, including the marketers, the financial aid consultants, and the rankers.
Selingo dispels the entrenched notions of how to compete and win at the admissions game, reveals why families have much to gain by broadening their notion of what qualifies as a “good” college, and explains how the Covid-19 pandemic will impact admissions in the long run.
